To all my Sydney siders, the weather here is finally getting colder! Let’s put away all our shorts and singlets, and bring out our cosy sweaters and long pants for this cold season.
I wanted to share this outfit idea to help jump start your autumn fashion brains, but let’s not forget about everyone else who is still experiencing the warm weather! This isn't just an ordinary blogpost but a collaboration I am doing with the one and only Chantel Duong, who is the writer of Moderndaychic. Over on her blog, she has put together a one last summer outfit, so be sure to check it out for both sides of the spectrum!
Waking up yesterday to a cool breeze coming from my window, I was super excited to get out of the house to show off some of my autumn pieces. I put together an outfit the night before and finally made my decision to go for the monochrome theme.
I knew that I wanted to wear a sweater, so I based my outfit around my white sweater which was purchased from Glassons. It definitely caught my eye with its unique cut out and believe it or not, this sweater was a large! It was the last one they had in store and without trying it on, I knew I had to get it and somehow make it work. The sleeves were a bit too long, so I folded it up and turned it into a 3/4 sleeve sweater which still looked hella cute!
You know how everyone has that ‘one’ pair of jeans? These skinny black ones I purchased from JAG are super comfortable and the most fitted jeans i’ve ever purchased! They have a variety of skinny jeans, boyfriend jeans and slim to straight styled jeans to fit everyones needs! If you haven’t found your ‘one’... maybe JAG could be your store. It was definitely mine!
Recently I’ve also been into tying sweaters & button ups around my waist. It really gives a bit more to my outfits and gives it a complete look, so I decided to tie my black ZARA sweater around my waste. I have so many clothing pieces in my closet right this second that can be worn in dozens of stylish ways and you probably do too! So just remember, before you think about chucking something out that may be too small or out of fashion, just think about the different ways you can incorporate them into your outfits to give it a fuller look.
Keeping with the monochrome theme, I took along the perfect sized bucket bag from Colette by Colette Hayman. If you are looking for a specific type of bag, be sure to check out Colette! They have such a large variety of bags for pretty reasonable prices! Heading out yesterday, I was also super excited to finally wear boots! It has been forever since I’ve worn my black buckled boots from NOVO.
Now onto the jewellery! I finally got my hands on some necklaces from Lovisa when they were having a 3 for $20 sale. I am honestly so obsessed with layering necklaces and knew that it would go perfect with the monochrome outfit, as well as the gold details on my side bag.
Now that you got one side of the spectrum, be sure to head over to Moderndaychic to read the other half of this blog collaboration!
